RAW Vs. COOKED

Ladies and gentlemen, tonight in our rink we have Randy the Raw food eater -known for his tossed salads, fresh fruits and juiced fruits and vegetables. His apponent, Collin the Cooked food Cook who loves to stir-fry, steam and bake his food. So without hesitation let the fight begin.

"Ding"

I, myself am a big fan of cooked foods. Why you may ask. Well first of all, constitutionally, I was not blessed with a stomach that can digest raw foods and squeeze out all that vital energy to absorb those valuable nutrients. When people choose eating trends blindly and not realize that each individual is different then problems with digestion can creep up. For instance, if our boxer Randy were to continue to eat raw foods even though he is experiencing diarrhea or loose stools, gets bloated all the time and has icy cold hands and feet, eventually he will start feeling fatigued and will no longer have any energy to fight his matches. But you say " isn't he getting all the nutrients from his food?". Very good question indeed. Well, if his stools are loose, I doubt he absorbed too much of anything. By cooking the foods, we give our stomaches a boost in the digestion round of things. Important is not to over cook the foods. So the next time you grab a salad for lunch, ask yourself if it is for you or would you rather order the stir-fry?

On the other hand, if you don't have any digestive problems, then eat and be happy with your salads. But keep in mind that our body doesn't always stay the same way, so just remember the "M" word. Everything in MODERATION.
Your stomach and everything connected will thank you.
